KAREN BROWARD
Club Director
Coach Broward was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She found the love of competitive volleyball in the 6th grade at Holy Cross Lutheran School. She went on to play 4 years of varsity volleyball at Wolfson High School where she played outside hitter, setter and defensive specialist. In addition to school ball, she played club ball at Jacksonville Junior Volleyball Association. She attended college in Virginia where she played beach volleyball in her free time. She moved back to Florida where she married the love of her life Phillip. Coach Broward has been blessed with 3 beautiful children. She has passed on her passion for volleyball to her girls Peyton and Kaylee.
Coach Broward has been playing volleyball for over 30 years and coached for over 15. Her love of volleyball, concern for a positive learning environment and affordable training were the driving forces behind starting Baymeadows Volleyball Academy alongside Coach Matt.
Coach Broward holds certifications in AAU (Double Goal Coach) and USAV (Impact and Safe Sport). She loves to help girls reach their full potential whether in the gym or in life. She enjoys encouraging girls to have more confidence in themselves and teaching them to work together for a common goal.
Coach Broward is thankful for Baymeadows Baptist Church, a loving church that willingly allows the use of their gym to a group of young ladies. Lastly, she is grateful for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.

ERICA MOYERS

Coach Moyers comes from the small town of Athens, Alabama and is currently the head middle school coach at University Christian Schools where she has been for 2 years. Before becoming an amputee, Coach Moyers played any sport she could. As she got older she gravitated towards volleyball, basketball and karate (black belt in Wado Ryu).
Coach Moyers was a Setter/DS on the USA Sitting Volleyball Team from 2002-2004. She won a Gold Medal in the Para-Pan-American games in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as well as a Bronze Medal in the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece.
Before playing for the USA Sitting Volleyball Team, Coach Moyers played wheelchair basketball for the University of Alabama for 4 years before transferring to UNF to finish her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education.
Coach Moyers loves watching the progress throughout the year with young players. “I feel like you can see amazing transformations in just one season’s time with the right attitude and work ethic.”


JESSICA MATT
Assistant Director/Recruiting Coordinator
Coach Matt is a native of Upstate New York and an Alumni of Cazenovia College where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree of Professional Studies in Sport Management.
Coach Matt has been playing volleyball for over 20 years and coaching for over 10. She played outside hitter for her high school team, where she received MVP, Best Defensive Player and holds the record for most digs in a season. She also played 4 years of collegiate volleyball and basketball.
Coach Matt started her coaching career during college when she was Head Coach of the Men’s Club Volleyball Team. She was also the Women’s Volleyball Assistant Coach for Cayuga Community College in 2011 before moving to Jacksonville, FL. Coach Matt coached High School Varsity for three years before starting Baymeadows Volleyball Academy alongside Coach Broward.
Coach Matt believes athletes should pursue excellence both on and off the court. She ranks attitude as the most important asset of a volleyball player, and fosters an environment of teamwork and leadership.

Coach Martin is a native of West Palm Beach, FL and an Alumnus of Bethune Cookman University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, Music Technology & Business with a minor in Psychology.
Coach Martin has been playing volleyball for over 20 years and coaching for over seven. He played Middle Blocker in High School where he helped to lead his team to a District Championship. He also played Basketball and participated in Track & Field.
Coach Martin started his coaching career at University Christian School and Christ Church Academy, where he was Head Coach of the Girl’s Middle School Volleyball Teams. He lead the UC Girls Team from a previous record of 2-11 to 9-7 with a 2nd round playoff finish. Simultaneously, he was the assistant coach for the 14's regional team at JJVA. Since then, he has coached various age levels ranging from 12U-18U at JJVA. Coach Martin's Club Teams have obtained medal finishes at various club tournaments throughout the state of Florida & Georgia. Coach Martin was promoted to Assistant Varsity Coach for Christ Church Academy & University Christian School. He helped the UC Girls Varsity Team reach their first District Championship appearance in school history and Christ Church Academy's team to secure another district title and a 2nd round regional playoff finish.
Coach Martin believes in the four keys to success: Sacrifice, Hard Work, Investment, and Resiliency. He believes that mental fortitude is the most important asset of a volleyball player.
