Co-Club Director/Upper National Coach
Coach Matt is a native of Upstate New York and an Alumni of Cazenovia College where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree of Professional Studies in Sport Management.
Coach Matt has been playing volleyball for over 20 years and coaching for over 10. She played outside hitter for her high school team, where she received MVP, Best Defensive Player and holds the record for most digs in a season. She also played 4 years of collegiate volleyball and basketball.
Coach Matt started her coaching career during college when she was Head Coach of the Men’s Club Volleyball Team. She was also the Women’s Volleyball Assistant Coach for Cayuga Community College in 2011 before moving to Jacksonville, FL. Coach Matt coached High School Varsity for three years before starting Baymeadows Volleyball Academy alongside Coach Broward.
Coach Matt believes athletes should pursue excellence both on and off the court. She ranks attitude as the most important asset of a volleyball player, and fosters an environment of teamwork and leadership.
Co-Club Director/Upper Elite Coach
Coach Broward was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She found the love of competitive volleyball in the 6th grade at Holy Cross Lutheran School. She went on to play 4 years of varsity volleyball at Wolfson High School where she played outside hitter, setter and defensive specialist. In addition to school ball, she played club ball at Jacksonville Junior Volleyball Association. She attended college in Virginia where she played beach volleyball in her free time. She moved back to Florida where she married the love of her life Phillip. Coach Broward has been blessed with 3 beautiful children. She has passed on her passion for volleyball to her girls Peyton and Kaylee.
Coach Broward is currently the Head Varsity Coach at Duval Charter High School. Her love of volleyball, concern for a positive learning environment and affordable training were the driving forces behind starting Baymeadows Volleyball Academy alongside Coach Matt.
Coach Broward holds certifications in AAU (Double Goal Coach) and USAV (Impact and Safe Sport). She loves to help girls reach their full potential whether in the gym or in life. She enjoys encouraging girls to have more confidence in themselves and teaching them to work together for a common goal.
Coach Broward is thankful for Baymeadows Baptist Church, a loving church that willingly allows the use of their gym to a group of young ladies. Lastly, she is thankful for her Lord and Savior that died on the cross for her sins. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philipians 4:13

Coach Helen grew up in Northern Virginia where she started her volleyball career in 2001 at Clash Volleyball Club as a setter. She was a four year starter and two time MVP at Osbourn Park High School where she also broke three Virginia State High School records for setting (career assists, assists in a season, and career attempts), was named Prince William County Athlete of the Year, named Prepvolleyball Andi Collins finalists for top setter in the nation, named to Prepvolleyball Soph 79 and Prepvolleyball Freshman 59, and won All-District, All-Region, All-State, All-Area, and All-Met accolades.
Coach Helen received a full ride athletic scholarship to the University of Louisiana Monroe (Division I), then transferred to Concord University (Division II) where she finished her volleyball career as a setter. She graduated from Concord University with a Bachelors in Sports Management, then continued her education at the University of North Georgia where she graduated with her Masters in Physical Education.
Coach Helen loves volleyball and is extremely excited for the opportunity to coach, encourage, and lift up an amazing group of young athletes.
